Mobile Developer

About the role

This role develops the Android software used across HurryPay's mobile products and payment terminals. You will work at the point where application engineering, payment flows, terminal hardware, and merchant experience meet, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and supportability in the Saudi market.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and maintain Android applications in Java or Kotlin.
• Integrate with payment-terminal SDKs and hardware components such as card readers, PIN pads, printers, and NFC interfaces.
• Implement clear transaction journeys for purchases, reversals, voids, refunds, receipts, and declined payments.
• Connect terminal and mobile applications to HurryPay APIs and payment messaging services.
• Support EMV contact and contactless payment flows and relevant customer or partner certification activities for mada, Visa, and Mastercard.
• Build useful diagnostics, logs, and recovery behaviour for devices operating in merchant environments.
• Work with backend, product, quality, and operations teams from implementation through controlled release.

What you bring

• Strong Android development experience using Kotlin or Java.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and vendor SDKs.
• A practical understanding of secure coding, data protection, and resilient offline or interrupted flows.
• The ability to investigate device, network, and backend issues using logs and reproducible tests.
• Clear technical communication and disciplined source-control and code-review practices.

Experience that will help

• Experience with Android payment terminals, POS devices, or embedded Android platforms.
• Knowledge of EMV, ISO 8583, APDU exchanges, contactless kernels, or terminal management systems.
• Previous work in payments, fintech, banking, or other regulated transaction environments.

Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
